The Big Announcement!
This weeks' big announcement can now be made, the paper that Dr. Stencel alluded to
is now published (in the April 8 issue of Nature). If you subscribe to Nature, you can access the article here. For those of you who do not have a subscription to Nature, I'll post up the article as submitted to a website and include the link later this week. Until then, say hello to the disk:

Dr. Stencel and I will be authoring a blog post later this week discussing the implications of our work.
I would like to thank several people for this opportunity, particularly Dr. Stencel who first proposed this research to Hal McAlister (GSU/CHARA) and John Monnier (University of Michigan) before I entered into graduate school. Even though Dr. Bob is the principal investigator on this project, he kindly allowed me to author the paper.

Hello, I eagerly await the news of this research and I congratulate you all! I am very interested in the part played by the CHARA Array also. Joan Chamberlin
There is a nice summary on the NSFsite at: http://www.nsf.gov/news/news_summ.jsp?cntn_id=116731&WT.mc_id=USNSF_51&W... and a very cool video of the disk eclipsing the primary at: http://www.ns.umich.edu/podcast/video2.php?id=1211 Mike Simonsen
Congratuations to all involved in this remarkable research! CS Heinz
Is written permission required to show the video in non-profit "Citizen Sky" presentations to the public? The data accumulated since initial presentations were done invites updates! :)
The video was part of the University of Michigan's press release on our recent paper. In general, copyright law would permit the information to be shown for educational purposes (which is what most CS activities are) without written request. If you plan on distributing it in some form, written request would be advised. Copyright is held by JohnD. Monnier at the University of Michigan and the university's press office. There will be additional publications on this topic as we have obtained some additional observations since then and hope to get some coverage during egress. Brian
I'm okay then, as there would be no distribution save url's which could lead people to what is already on the web. Many thanks for you prompt reply. :)
Thank you for another great blog. Where else could I get that kind of information written in such a perfect way? I have a project that I am presently working on, and I have been on the look out for such info. legal service Ukraine
