Citizen Sky Workshop I
The Citizen Sky Workshop I in Chicago last week went well. A special thanks to Rebecca Turner for doing an outstanding job on coordinating Workshop I. She is a real pro at this.
Also a big thank you to the Adler staff for helping make everything go smoothly.
Bob Stencel provided us with an excellent overview of epsilon Aurigae and even I learned a few new things. Great job Dr. Bob!
In addition to any posting on the AAVSO web site of the two Workshops I held, I will be posting the two PowerPoint Presentations on the Epsilon Aurigae Campaign web site.
I will be doing some redesign of the Epsilon Aurigae Campaign web site and will be enhancing the Photometry and Spectroscopy sections. The Citizen Sky web site will be set up to take Visual brightness estimates. To help with the photometric data, please submit those data to me (and to the AAVSO if you wish). I will be publishing any submissions in our periodic Campaign Newsletter and on the Campaign web site. We are looking in to using the data for some near future publications. All those submitting data will be acknowledged, possibly as coauthors. Please contact me if you have any questions or comments. We welcome UBVRIJH band photometric data, single channel photometry and CCD photometry, including DSLR photometry.
Because there are no plans to handle spectroscopy data on the Citizen Sky site please submit that to me. Details on how we will handle this will be forth coming. I will be adding a section to the Campaign web site to handle the observer information and spectra data. More to come.

Thanks for the compliments Jeff! I very much appreciate the work you put into your presentations at the workshop as well! I just wanted to make one quick comment about photometric submission: The Citizen Sky site currently includes instructions on submitting photometric data. For now we ask that participants use the method described in these instructions. Coming very soon we will have an online submission form available for photometric data in the same area of the site as the current visual form (under the "Data" tab.) The method mentioned above and the soon-to-come Citizen Sky photometric form both instantly and permanently archive your data in the AAVSO International Database (AID.) Data from the AID are available to anyone at anytime and are frequently used in major research projects. So in effect if you submit your data to the AID they become available to any researcher out there who would like to use them - exciting stuff! Stay tuned for updates - Kate is hard at work and adding new features to our site every week! Keep up the good work everyone!:)
