Riverwoods Field Lab of the Center for Environmental Studies of Florida Atlantic University will host students from Bridgeport College in Virginia for a night of observing the Winter night sky.  Riverwoods is in the last dark sky site in south central Florida. We have 6.5 magnitude night skies on clear, moonless nights.

Chris Stephan, Education Specialist at Riverwoods (and AAVSO observer) will teach the night sky using a green laser pointer. Students will learn the constellations and bright stars. Included will be Epsilon Aurigae, Algol, Mira, and a few other variable stars. Chris will share the concept of Citizen Sky with the students. We will be viewing celestial objects through Riverwoods' 12 inch reflecting telescope and Chris' 10 inch reflector.

The event is for Bridgeport College students only- not open for public.
