How To Give a Talk
How To Give a Talk
Talks are a great way to spread the word about epsilon Aurigae and your participation in the project. Some good places to give talks are local amateur clubs, museums, observatories and schools (both K-12 and college). You may be surprised at how easy it is to simply call them up and offer to give a talk. Since astronomy is one of the most well attended topics, science outreach organizations are always on the lookout for interesting astronomy talks.
At the upcoming workshop we're going to have a session about how to give effective and entertaining talks. We'll post the video and slides of that session here. However, in the meantime Mike Simonsen has created a powerpoint presentation about epsilon Aurigae that anyone can use. Just click on the link below to download it. Feel free to modify it for your use as well.
One note: the images in the presentation were created by Sky and Telescope magazine. They have offered us their use as long as full credit is given to Sky & Telescope. So if you use the image, be sure to keep the credits as well.
