How To Publish Posters

Citizen Sky is now officially permanent part of the AAVSO. In the coming weeks we will be moving additional content to the AAVSO site and freezing this site as an archive of the 1st three years of the project. Please visit the new landing page for future updates.

Posters are a great way to present project ideas and results. They can be less formal that official talks and offer greater interaction with the audience. As an added bonus, it's easy to take the posters and place them online so Google can index it and then lead people to your promise land.

Posters are often presented at scientific meetings. The American Astronomical Society usually has thousands of posters at their semi-annual meetings. Most amateur meetings and star parties will also accept posters if you just ask the meeting coordinator. They can also be posted in the hallways of schools, universities and local amateur clubhouses.

A talk was given at the AAVSO's spring 2006 meeting about creative effective poster presentations.

You can get links to the talk here:  pdf | mov | ppt

So consider making posters of your participation in Citizen Sky. We'll be happy to assist you, give advice and edit the poster if you like. It's a great way to get the word out, especially for those not comfortable speaking in front of audiences. Also, please send us the PDF and we'll place it on this web page for all to see.
