Upcoming Article in The Classroom Astronomer

Posted by bkloppenborg on June 21, 2011 - 12:39am

On behalf of my coauthors I am pleased to announce that Tom Pearson, Brian Kloppenborg, and Heinz-Bernd Eggenstein will have an article in tomorrow's release of The Classroom Astronomer, an education magazine for secondary and undergraduate education.  There is a sampler for the next issue that includes a one-page excerpt from our article

I'm really excited about this publication because it's the first of what I hope will be many CS participant publications.  Even though my name is listed on the article I did very little.  The editor of TCA contacted me at the 217th AAS meeting in Seattle and I wrote an outline for the article.  Tom and Heinz-Bernd took it from there.  They wrote all of the text, worked with the editor through several revisions, and have produced a very nice primer for using DSLR photometry in the classroom.

Lets all join in congratulating Tom and Heinz-Bernd for a job well done!
