The talk (part of a monthly series held by the Volkssternwarte Paderborn e.V.) will discuss the basics of boths the astrophysics involved in variable stars and the basics of photometry.

The epsilon Aurigae system and the Citizen Sky project will be introduced to the audience and a hands-on demonstration of DSLR-photometry will be given.

As always, vistitors are invited to visit the telescope dome of the Sternwarte after the talk.

The talk will be held in German language.
