A bit of spectroscopic "eye candy"
As part of a presentation I am preparing on the epsilon Aurigae eclipse, I
generated an animation and a false colour plot from my 78 spectra showing the
evolution of the 7699A Potassium line over the past year.

They were produced using Rlhires, amateur spectroscopist Christian Buil's latest software program
http://astrosurf.com/buil/rlhires/tuto1.htm
Although they look pretty (to me at least!) they are also useful as they help to give a quick impression of the way this line has evolved during the eclipse
ThanksNikki, You can find the data up to the end of February here in this joint paper with Dr Bob. http://arxiv.org/abs/1003.3617 I have still to get round to it but eventually I plan to add all the spectra to the database of amateur spectra whicham maintaining here. http://www.threehillsobservatory.co.uk/epsaur_spectra.htm (At the momentall my spectra are listed there but not the actual data) Cheers Robin
Robin, The format in which you communicated the K data makes this an excellent resource to show my high school students. Thank you, Susan Kelly Bridgewater, CT

I must say: very nice! Can you publish also numerical EW data of KI line?
