Citizen Sky Logo
I've done up a Logo idea for the Citizen Sky Project. It's a take off from the Galileoscope because I really like that one. Any other ideas or tweak suggestions (this is very much a Beta version)?

I like thatI do! Well done that person
When are the T-Shirts out and, can I get one in the UK please:)
I've tweaked the image a bit per a suggestion to re-arrange Eps and the kids. Also rounded the text and lines.
Hi DaleThx for the changes. Looks better now.Now you must just make a few others to reflect the differingusage of the constellation lines in different countries ;-)No, just kidding.CSWolfgang
Hi;I've dropped the logo into the Citizen Sky PowerPoint presentation. I made a change that makes it fit better. Since the slide background on the title slide is black (or nearly so), I reversed the exterior color scheme. That is, the text and surrounding line are now white on a black background. The logo then blends into the slide.I'd upload it, but I'm sure you can do this and make it better that I can. I'm no graphic artist. As the 'owner' of this artwork, you may want to make a version available with this change. Thanks very much...Bill
I was bemused to note, in my researching constellation graphics, that there were more than a few differing line/star configurations. Glad you like the current rendition I posted.-Dale
Hi Dale Its nothing to get bemused of. In different charts, different stars for drawing the constellation lines are used. Which way one does prefer is a matter of being used to or have grown up with. E.g. I started astronomy with a Kosmos planisphere where the western constellation lines of Aur are drawn from alpha Aur via eps Aur and iota Aur to beta Tau. Its the same in the Halwag big Sirius planisphere. So this is probably the German or European way to draw the Aur constellation lines that might be different to the way used in the US. With some planetarium programs one can even choose between different ways to do it. But the differences are so marginal that they are in this case not important at all. The only major difference would be to "declare" eps Aur to be one of the major stars of Aur. Hi Bill-I'm just happy you found it to be a suitable graphic. I would indeed like to see the changed graphic.-Dale
Hi Dale;I haven't figured out how to attach or imbed an image in a forum post. If you'll give me your email address I'll send it to you. Here's what I did... I took the original image and reversed the colors. This made the text and the outside circle white on black. I then copied the center of the original image (the blue sky, etc.) and pasted it on top of the reversed image.Thanks...Bill
I've done some changes to the logo design: Changed the "Citizen Sky Project" to all-caps which cleans up the look and re-worked the observer (for one thing, the binoculars are at the eyes, instead of the cheeks.
I've also done other versions, one that has reversed color on the text so it could be used on a dark background.
Hi Again !!! Ill be using your wonderful Logo in a talk for a High School this Friday, of course giving you credit adjacent to the logo :-) Thanks for the New Version too, Have a good week !!!~~~ PJ aka SB
After showing my logo ideas at a recent astronomy club meeting, one version came way out on top as far as responses went. So here it is, the logo totally in the round:

If Ican get the time to put it together this summer, Imay use your pictures in a planetarium show if that's ok?
I'm happy to have these available for the use of anyone connected to the CS Project. Hope the show goes well.
