Eclipsing binary lit review team project idea

The launch of the new online epsilon Aurigae modeling software had me thinking about eclipsing binary stars in general. Historically, they are one of the most important classes of variable stars. Since one star is passing in front of another, as seen from Earth, we can determine more info about the system using basic geometry. One possible CS team idea would be to write an introductory or intermediate level literature review about the history of eclipsing binary astronomy and current state of the field. If anyone is interested in leading or participating in such a team, contact us or create it yourself. We'll also assign an astronomer liason to answer your questions and help get you started. A special edition of the Journal of the AAVSO will be dedicated to papers by Citizen Sky participants and I think this would be a very useful contribution to that issue.
