Experiment to test Visual Precision and Accuracy
The Mark I Eyeball team has announced a project to collect data to help them analyze the precision and accuracy of visual estimates of variable stars. The project is open to anyone, but the data must be uploaded through the AAVSO because we need to make use of some special features of their data submission form (but you do not need to be an official member of the AAVSO to participate).

The project is open to any visual observer of any experience level. The goal is to control for the comparison stars and charts used to make an estimate. Then the results will be compared with data taken from the AAVSO's Bright Star Monitor photometric telescope. We want to take data for about six months and look for influential factors such as observing experience, fatigue, weather, light pollution, etc.
Hope you can join us!
