getting started in RI

Today I got a jump start on the education and outreach with a workshop for teachers, plus a few summer high school students and undergrads.  There were about two dozen in the group and the project was received with much enthusiasm.  I used the power point presentation form here along with a lesson on reading a star chart and making magnitude estimates.  We will try to do a followup early next week with an evening of observing, if the weather cooperates.

If there is anyone in the Rhode Island area who would like to be involved in upcoming events, feel free to contact me.  We're going to try to incorporate citizen sky in both classroom outreach and public programs at the Ladd Observatory in Providence.
