Greek on-going visual observations

Hello all!!

Here you can see our first results from the greek campaign on eps aur:

http://www.hellas-astro.gr/article.php?id=765&topic=variables&subtopic=&...

The whole page is in Greek so as to give some basic info about the system and some tips how to make a visual estimation, nothing more that you cannot find already here at CitizenSky.org, except, of course, of the diagram with our observations (without any reduction since there are too few). But even with them we can still see the behavior of our strange star!

More to come later!

Clear Skies,

Grigoris

Grigoris,I used Google translate to get a decent idea of your campaign. For others:http://translate.google.com/translate?prev=hp&hl=en&js=y&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hellas-astro.gr%2Farticle.php%3Fid%3D765%26topic%3Dvariables%26subtopic%3D%26lang%3Del&sl=el&tl=en&history_state0=You might be interested in joining the (international) effort to observe eps Aur which is explained on Jeff Hopkins' website: http://www.hposoft.com/Campaign09.htmlJeff just assembled the 14th eps Aur campaign newsletter. The back issues are well-worth reading and will give you a good idea of who is doing what in the campaign.Keep up the good work,Brian

Hey Brian, the Citizen Sky effort is international too. :) About a third of our observations come from outside the USA. All are welcome. The 10 Star Tutorial is currently being translated into Turkish, Tagalog, Spanish and Esperanto too! Anyone else interested in helping us translate it to other languages? We are also willing to create specific forums dedicated to other languages. So if someone would like a forum dedicated to their native tongue (or language of choice), just ask!

Thanks Brian! I know about the campaign, and I do have the newsletters! I have not registered though because it was oriented towards photometry & spectroscopy (with the appropriate equipment) and currently I cannot contribute this kind of data.Grigoris

Hello to all!!A new update on our observations shows that we are following pretty well the eclipse of epsilon aurigae. You can see 2 light-curves, one which includes all the observations that we have collected since November 2008 up to now and one more detailed from August up to now (November 2009). These are raw observations, without any reduction. More details (in Greek) at: http://www.hellas-astro.gr/article.php?id=765&topic=variables&subtopic=&...

Hello to all!! This is our new diagram on eps aur, including both visual and DSLR/CCD ons! After a lot of work within the DSLR team I have managed to produce some decent results of our images, and here they are! I have to mention that J-M. Strikis is also a member of the international campaign so his results are also being checked by Jeff Hopkins. I hope that we will have more visual and digital observations. Here is the ling to the (greek) page: http://www.hellas-astro.gr/article.php?id=765&topic=variables&subtopic=&... Clear Skies! Grigoris
