"Mystery In The Sky" DVD countdown

There are now 10 days left to raise about $700.00 dollars to have the "Mystery In The Sky" DVD funded. Please consider going to Kickstarter at

You can pledge at several different levels and you will receive a certain number of DVDs per your pledge level. This is a fantastic DVD. I have seen the 1 hour beta version and was amazed by it. The Citizen Sky project is being archived for posterity purposes on the DVD. The interviews are great. What memories this DVD will bring back many years into the future.
A great thought- the DVD would make a great Christmas gift! Pick out a pledge amount that you are comfortable with, and see how many DVDs you will receive for that pledge. It would be wonderful for astronomy club libraries, and schools, too.
Please see what you can do. I know we are all in a terrible economy right now, so just check out the Kickstarter web site, and see what you can do. I don't want anyone to feel they are being pressured to give. Just check it out, and see what comes of it. Thanks.

Okay Arne, you are on!! I just bumped up my pledge so pull out that checkbook kiddo!
Congratulations to Guustaaf and thanks to justafew, Chris, Maurice, james21, Arne and EVERYONE else who contributed. He has made his goal and, as of now, he has raised $2150 - way more than the $1600 goal. We are going to have a nice number of extra DVDs to send to schools, clubs, libraries, etc. If you would like one for your local organization, contact us! We'll have more on this after the fundraising period ends and Guustaaf posts a final update.

As of this posting, the total commitments are $1205, with the goal being $1600. Arne Henden, Director of the AAVSO, has personally offered to match any further funds raised between the current $1205 total and the $1600 goal before the end of the campaign on October 2. That is, if you kick in $15, he'll kick in $15 too. If you kick in $50, he'll kick in $50. That means we only need to raise $197.50 more in the next week. Furthermore, Arne will donate the DVDs he receives as part of his donation to the AAVSO to distribute to amateur clubs, star parties, etc. If you are interested in supporting the documentary and haven't been able to do so yet, now is the time!
