Pecision and Accuracy

This photo was taken today, September 1, 2011 in one of my 7th grade science classes. I was attempting to teach the concept of precision and accuracy in scientific observations. I used the Smart Board and this diagram and had this student describe what was happening in each pattern, and which pattern showed more precision and accuracy with the red dots. This stirred some great discussion in the class. The young lady also enjoyed getting to come up in front of the class and use some of the technology. The photo attached shows the classroom setting. I teach at Avon Park Middle School in Avon Park, Florida.
