Welcome to the Citizen Sky Forum!  We are happy that you are interested in the project and hope that you will enjoy interacting with other participants and team members. Citizen Sky is about teamwork, about how a bunch of citizen scientists can work together to help figure something out that professional astronomers haven't gotten to the bottom of after 175 years.  We are here to work together, support each other, and stimulate the learning/discovery process.  We hope that the forums will be very important tools in reaching these goals.  We have come up with a basic set of guidelines to help keep us on track:

  1. Please keep all posts squeaky clean.  We have families and students visiting this site and certainly don't want to be blocked by internet filter software.
  2. Please be diplomatic.  It is absolutely acceptable to disagree with another participant, but please keep it about the facts and don't make it personal. We are here to support each other.
  3. No commercial posts unless prior approval is given by the forum moderator.

In the event that forum moderators feel something is getting out of hand, we will first try to take care of it privately.  If that fails, then we reserve the right to hold postings until they are edited by the author to meet these guidelines. Thank you and happy posting!  :)
