Citizen Sky

The primary mission of our team is outreach.

We are dedicated to the explanation of complex ideas and scientific findings by means of visual understanding. Aesthetic Solutions' intends to accomplish its goal by:

- Gather a group of individuals who share the common purpose this team has, and are willing to do their best in order to advance this main purpose.

- Develop a networking environment (or forum) where members post valuable content about Citizen Sky's related material: graphs, models, animations, illustrations, etc. Posts will be reviewed and analyzed by members, in order to improve, or target a specific audience.

- Develop illustrations, animations, or any type of visual imagery for teaching and outreach.

- Promote visual comprehension through interactive, intuitive, and aesthetically pleasing ideas.

- Create a destination where other teams and individuals can get the most effective visual aids ready to use as teaching or outreach tools.

VStar Icons/buttons

Attached is a .jpg that I hope you all look at. It has 19 icons for VStar's toolbar, and with your help (vote) we will get the final 12 we need. There are also navigation arrows, but I only made these so no vote on those.

There are only 6 icons that you can vote on, the other 6 —and the 4 arrows— I think are pretty straight forward and look fine (tell me if you disagree.) All icons will be 24 x 24 pixels so when you are voting for your favorite keep in mind how they look when small (the smaller icons are true to size.)

Again, comment, critique, ask... vote! Please.

New Perspective

After going through new data with Brian Loppenborg, Dr. Bob, and other leading researchers of Epsilon Aurigae at the last workshop in San Francisco —and through emails since then— I've put together this last illustration. It's a high resolution image and has plenty of detail for printing purposes. Criticism, questions, comments, requests are all welcome. In the upcoming days I will be having this team go through a list of icons for VStar that I've been working on with David Benn. Some of the icons have 2 or more different looks, and that's when a voting round will be requested form you. Also, I know there are 2 other things down the pipeline for me to do. Alice, the comic strip is the next thing on the drawing board. However, the star animation program —that would show a specific binary dimming as data comes available— seems evermore impossible for me to even start on.Read more

Certificate Done With InDesign

This file contains two pages with the two possible certificate versions: gold or silver badges. It also has two text boxes (in the same layer called "Name") for each certificate, currently with a place-holder name, but it could easily be changed. Any other suggestions or concern, let me know. Thanks!

***UPDATE***

I can't send you .indd files (InDesign) through here. So here are two .jpgs. They Can't really be altered as they are but could easily be trasfered to InDesign as I did it myself. If approved and liked by all then I could send the .indd file through my server. Look at them and tell me what you think first.Read more
