Feature Suggestion

Citizen Sky is now officially permanent part of the AAVSO. In the coming weeks we will be moving additional content to the AAVSO site and freezing this site as an archive of the 1st three years of the project. Please visit the new landing page for future updates.

Great news on enabling discrepant point flagging to AAVSO in today's release!Might I suggest a small feature that Zapper has that would be handy to have in VStar, and that's the ability to navigate left and right in the time domain at whatever zoom level you happen to be at in VStar. Now, I have to zoom in on a particular part of the light curve, then zoom all the way out and zoom back in to move along through a curve. Zapper's left-right move buttons make that much easier.v/r,Jim B.

Time panning in VStar

Hi Jim Thanks for the feedback. Yes indeed. It turns out that this is the last remaining, but postponed, phase 1 feature. Time panning was in the original AAVSO spec last year from which I extracted requirements defining the phase 1 feature set: (seeREQ_VSTAR_PLOT_TIME_PAN on that page). Other things have just had a higher priority up until recently. It's since been moved to a tracker to ensure we didn't forget to do it: You'll notice that it's listed as high priority which means (in principle) that I'll get to it sooner than other trackers. I agree that it's a great idea and I'm starting to want it now that I'm working through Miras to report discrepants. :) Regards, David
