<p>I am a member of the Astronomical Society of South Australia (ASSA) and enjoy using my<br />
Meade LX90 to share the night sky with members of ASSA and the general public. A desire to<br />
make a contribution to the scientific community has motivated me to collaborate with the<br />
AAVSO and Citizen Sky participants to develop a new Java incarnation of <a href="http://www.citizensky.org/teams/vstar-software-development">VStar</a>, a variable<br />
star data visualisation and analysis program of which I am the lead developer and about<br />
which I spoke at the Chicago workshop in August.</p>

In 1994 I observed the impact "scars" on Jupiter from comet <a target="_blank" href="http://www2.jpl.nasa.gov/sl9/">Shoemaker-Levy 9</a> with my<br />
humble 4.5" Newtonian.<br />
