I'm an artist and I love astronomy.<br />

I've never had a telescope, I only own a few books on the subject, and living in Chicago lets me see only a miniscule fraction of the stars at night. However, learning anything valuable, anywhere I can, about astronomy fulfills me immensely. It provides me with awe and wonder, which are a source of inspiration, humbleness, and "faith". While in my work I may not talk directly about celestial objects, the approach to the topics I cover is based on observation, analysis, and sometimes theorization.<br />

More importantly I think, is that dealing with problems in society takes a different perspective when we ponder about the Cosmos and our place in it. Provincial, trivial, clumsy tribulations humans cyclically stumble upon mean so little in the bigger picture and we must break away from them. Knowing about physics and science is knowing about who we are and about our precious environment —these broad fields unify us, and also pose common goals for all to reach. I see curiosity as a kind of fuel, and wisdom as a kind of oil for the "engine of progress". So in my work I try to illustrate collective goals we should all strive for, and run this "engine" full power to get to the places we dream of.
